Cheshire College – South & West is committed to ensuring that all students receive the very highest level of support from the very beginning, to successful completion of their course and moving on to university, training or employment.

Our Careers Team offers a confidential, impartial and accessible service, delivered by professional and highly-qualified staff, across all three Campuses. If we can help you in anyway, we will. Our services are open to anyone, you don’t have to be a current student to book an appointment with the team. We also have our annual Careers and Employment Fair held to celebrate National Careers Week in March.

Who can use our career advice service?

 
Our services are open to anyone, you don’t have to be a current student to book an appointment with the team. All full-time students have the opportunity to book an appointment with the team at any stage during their studies and also have support on-programme through their Personal Development Tutors where they are encouraged to explore their career options, to create a CV and to develop their employability skills. 
 
We also invite in guest speakers to inspire and challenge our students, including talks from curriculum-related employers, universities, the Apprenticeship Talent Pool and many more.

Additional support and advice

The Cheshire and Warrington Opportunities Portal is free to use and provides:

  • A single place to search for live job and apprenticeship vacancies as well as training courses
  • Over 26,000 job vacancies that are updated every 30 minutes. Searches by local sectors that are growing or have significant levels of employment
  • Information about local sectors that are growing or have significant levels of employment
  • Careers information about 350 different roles
  • Links to free online training to retrain and upskill
  • Ability to tailor to the individual’s needs (e.g. specific geographical areas or particular types of jobs
  • Ability to set email alerts for when new opportunities are posted
