From FREE transport available to all 16-18 year old students to the opportunity to loan a laptop during your studies, we’re always identifying ways we can support our students so that they can focus on their goals without any additional financial stress.

We’ve outlined some of the different types of financial support available that you may be eligible for as a 16-18 year old student. We have a dedicated team focused on making this process as simple and smooth for you as possible. The 16-19 Bursary Fund
This fund provides financial support to help 16-18 year old students remain in education.
Discretionary Bursary
Students can also apply for a discretionary bursary if they enrolled on a course at the age of 16-18 and are continuing on the same course now that they’re aged 19 or over. Or if they have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Students aged between 16-18 years old are eligible for a free meal every day that they’re on Campus throughout their studies.

Our students travel to College from Cheshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Merseyside, North Wales and beyond.
We have an Eco Travel plan which aims to reduce traffic volume, encourage cycling and walking and provide opportunities for access to public and contracted vehicles. As part of this sustainable plan, we offer FREE transport for all full time students aged 16-18 living over one mile from the Campus where their course is delivered.
There are three different options available depending on your home location:
For students aged under 19 years old where a College Coach service exists, this is the only service that the College will subsidise.

Cycling to College
The College encourages staff and students who live within three miles of their Campus to maximise their environmental friendliness by cycling to College. We have plenty of secure cycle storage and cycle racks. There are also changing and drying facilities in the Sports department to enable cyclists to change before going to class.
If you are a parent under 20 years old, you are eligible for childcare support of up to £160 per child, per week, under the Care to Learn scheme. More details about this are available at www.gov.uk/care-to-learn.
If you are a student under the age of 19 who live in Wales and travels to study at Cheshire College, you may be able to receive an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). You can find out more about this at www.studentfinancewales.co.uk/fe/ema.

Advanced Learner Loan
If you are doing a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification, you may need to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your tuition fees. If this is the case, then you will need a funding and information letter from the College before you can complete your application. Loan Bursary Fund
Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Students may apply to get support from the Loan Bursary Fund after they have received a letter approving their Advanced Learner Loan. The support can help pay for things like:
AEB Support Fund
Full and part-time funded students aged 19+ may be eligible to apply for support from the AEB fund. This support can help pay for things like:
