The Course

If you are looking for a career in the healthcare sector or want to enhance your existing career options, then this is the course for you! This Level 5 course will provide you with an excellent understanding of the healthcare environment in England, through both work-based experience and academic study. You will gain transferrable skills that you will be able to apply across many different careers in healthcare. Additionally, If you are thinking of attending university then this course will prepare you to study at an undergraduate level and you will gain 72 UCAS points.

The Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Healthcare Professions’ Support for England will require 225 hours of work placement or experience in a health and/or social care setting.

We welcome an application profile that meets one of the following:

  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in healthcare or a related subject
  • A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject
  • Other related Level 3 qualifications
  • An Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution
  • Related work experience as determined at interview with the Course Team Leader
  • An international equivalent of the above

and:

  • GCSE grades A* to C and/or 9 to 4 in maths and English
After successfully completing this course you could seek employment in a variety of assistant practitioner roles within the healthcare sector. You could also go on to study at university.
