This hands-on course provides a practical introduction to basic bricklaying, ideal for those interested in home renovation or small DIY projects. Students will learn how to lay mortar beds, bricks, and blocks safely and accurately, developing techniques that support a high standard of finish. The course also covers essential skills and knowledge for anyone looking to understand the basics of brickwork. Key topics include health and safety in construction, how to use and maintain bricklaying tools, and the correct mixing of mortars and additives. Students will explore different types of bricks, blocks, and bonds, as well as how to build corners, apply various jointing methods, and use levels and lines for accurate builds. By the end of the course, students will be able to carry out small-scale brickwork tasks with confidence.
