Why choose a career in Health & Social Care

Health and Social Care is a rewarding sector to be a part of and those within it possess skillsets that are increasingly in-demand.

Whether it be for children, the elderly or people with a disability, Cheshire College’s Health and Social Care courses provides students with the skills, understanding and experience they need to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Throughout your studies, you’ll have access to industry-standard facilities to prepare you for a career in caring for others, including a health science lab, a simulated hospital ward and our specialist independent living area.

You will also undertake a work placement where you will develop practical skills whilst working alongside health and social care professionals.

Amy Roberts

Health & Social Care Extended Diploma Level 3

“I came to the College on the Health and Social Care course as 6th Form didn’t suit me. I was interested in doing a Speech and Language Therapy Degree at Manchester Metropolitan University and my College course would give me the qualification I needed to apply. I’m predicted to achieve triple D/D* which will mean I will be eligible for a £1,000 bursary from the university. I’m nervous to leave College but really excited about university and can’t wait to start my career.”
