The Course

This introductory course is designed for students working in health or social care settings who support individuals with dementia. It provides a broad understanding of how dementia affects people and explores ways to promote their wellbeing through effective communication and care practices.

The course highlights the importance of empathy, respect and consistency when supporting individuals and introduces methods to improve quality of life and person-centred care. This course is suitable for care workers, support staff or anyone in a healthcare environment seeking to build their awareness of dementia-related conditions.
