How to apply

The Course

This course provides students with an understanding of palliative and end of life care, focusing on the principles and practices required to support individuals with dignity and compassion during the final stages of life.

Students will explore the emotional and physical aspects of palliative care, including how to offer support to both patients and their families. The course covers how to recognise the needs of individuals approaching the end of life, respond with empathy and care, and ensure that comfort, peace and respect are upheld throughout. It also introduces complementary therapies that may support wellbeing and comfort during palliative care.

This training is suitable for professionals working in care, including support workers, nurses, doctors, health and social care staff and spiritual care practitioners.

Students will complete a portfolio to display their understanding of key topics.
