How to apply

The Course

This qualification aims to increase your understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health through effective dietary planning, understanding the changing role of a diet throughout a persons life and utilising the information provided on food packaging in decision making.

This course should take approximately four to six months to complete. There are six mandatory units in this qualification:

  • Explore principles of healthy eating
  • Consider nutritional needs of a variety of individuals
  • Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet
  • The principles of weight management
  • Understanding eating disorders
  • Principles of food safety for the home environment

This is a remote learning course which will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence.

There are no entry requirements for this course; however, a good level of English and a reasonable level of IT skills are required. There will be an initial assessment as part of the application process. This is a knowledge only qualification. Experience in the real work environment is not required.
