How to apply

The Course

This course is ideal for students who want to continue their education through applied learning at a higher level. The Mechanical Engineering for England BTEC HND provides an in-depth and practical study of the mechanical engineering sector and is designed for those who wish to progress into a career in engineering or related industries.

The course develops the core knowledge, skills and techniques that underpin the discipline of mechanical engineering. It explores key areas such as engineering design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, advanced manufacturing and materials. Students will also gain experience of applying theoretical concepts to real-world engineering problems and enhancing both technical understanding and professional competence.

By the end of the Mechanical Engineering HND, students will have a strong grasp of the principles within their specialist field and the ability to apply them across a range of industrial contexts. This qualification supports progression into employment at a technical or managerial level or onto further study such as a full engineering degree.
